It is the self within ourselves that we must sacrifice. It is our own heart that has to be torn out of the false being and offered to the light.
unverified quote from the dubious Pyramid of Fire
which claims to be a lost Aztec Codex, a 13 "page" collection of pictographs written on one very long sheet of stitched deer skin or similar material, then folded up like a newspaper or book.
Our Daily Challenge: Saturated
the geek behind the curtain: all shots and layers in this assemblage were taken and developed by myself.
3 shots, 8 layers. this faux Aztec column stands outside a travel agency near our local grocery. it was taken in broad, clear daylight.
the stone behind it started out as yellow tile in a Mexican restaurant, which i copied onto 2 layers, flipped one, and blended them together, then saturated the result until it was dark red. now i’m seeing faces in it like a Rorschach test. there’s also a shot of craft paper on top, giving things a somewhat different hue than normal.
lots of playing around with shadow-gradient layers, dodging and burning.
